What We Believe

Dr. Mark T. Jackson serves as the Lead Pastor of The Light Church alongside his wife, Lady Josie Jackson, affectionately known as “Lady J,” who serves as First Lady. Together, they lead with a shared passion for the Gospel of Jesus Christ, holistic transformation, and community impact.

Dr. Jackson is a visionary leader, teacher, and shepherd committed to preaching the Word with clarity, power, and practical relevance, while cultivating a culture of excellence, discipleship, and authentic relationship with Christ.

Lady J partners faithfully in ministry, offering wisdom, compassion, and support to families, women, and the broader church community. United in purpose and calling, Dr. Mark T. Jackson and Lady J are devoted to helping people come to the Light, grow in the Light, and shine the Light in every area of life.

The Light Church exists to share the Light, Love, and Gospel of Jesus Christ. Rooted in Scripture and led by the Holy Spirit, we are a Kingdom-driven, Christ-centered ministry committed to helping people move from darkness into God’s marvelous light (Matthew 5:14–16; 1 Peter 2:9).

Our mission is to evangelize the lost, disciple believers, and serve our community through vibrant worship, biblical teaching, authentic relationships, and intentional outreach. We believe transformation happens best in connection—with God and with one another—so we grow bigger by growing smaller through worship gatherings, small groups, and hands-on ministry.

At The Light Church, we focus on holistic growth—spiritually, emotionally, mentally, physically, and financially. We are passionate about empowering children and youth, strengthening families, restoring hope, developing leaders, and making a lasting impact locally and globally.

Our culture is guided by core values we call Bedrocks, including salvation, connection, education, giving, youth development, health, legacy, character, and excellence. Everything we do is done with the purpose of glorifying God and helping people discover and shine the light God placed within them.

WHAT WE BELIEVE

At The Light Church, our beliefs are rooted firmly in the Word of God and centered on the person and work of Jesus Christ. We believe truth brings freedom, and clarity builds confidence as people grow in their faith.

We Believe in Jesus Christ
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God—fully God and fully man. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the grave on the third day, and now reigns at the right hand of the Father. Salvation is found in Him alone through repentance, faith in His resurrection, and confession of His Lordship. We believe all believers are called to publicly declare their faith through water baptism.

We Believe the Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God. Written by human authors under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, Scripture is God-breathed and trustworthy in all matters of faith and life. The Old and New Testaments reveal God’s truth, His plan for humanity, and His will for how we live today.

We Believe in One True God
We believe in one eternal, sovereign God who exists as—Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is holy, loving, all-powerful, all-knowing, and unchanging. He is Creator, Sustainer, and Redeemer, and He alone is worthy of our worship and obedience.

We Believe in the Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God and actively at work in the world today. He convicts of sin, brings new life through regeneration, indwells believers, empowers them for service, and equips them with spiritual gifts. We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the ongoing work of the Spirit in producing godly character and power for Christian living.

We Believe in the Church
We believe the Church is the Body and Bride of Christ, made up of all who are born again through faith in Jesus Christ. The local church exists to worship God, teach Scripture, disciple believers, serve others, and share the Gospel with the world. We recognize water baptism and Holy Communion as biblical ordinances given by Christ.

We Believe in Humanity and Salvation
We believe all people are created in the image of God and are deeply valued by Him. Because of sin, humanity is separated from God and unable to save itself. Salvation is a gift of grace, received by faith in Jesus Christ alone—not by works. Through salvation, believers are forgiven, restored to relationship with God, and transformed by His power.

We Believe in Holy Living and Eternity
We believe believers are called to live lives that honor God, reflecting Christ in character, conduct, and love. We believe Jesus Christ will return again, and that every person will exist eternally—either in union with God through salvation (Heaven) or separated from Him because of sin (Hell).
